I know many people who follow diuretic foods diet for a detoxification diet, to clean your body and make you feel fully refreshed. It is important to know that carbohydrates (sugar too), salt foods, junk foods (such as hambuergers, pizza and so on), and of cource soft drinks, cause body to retain fluids, so I advice to avoid theese foods. Many people have bloating problems with dairy products. To sum up, try to consume diuretics foods for a few days, not weeks, because if you are on them too long, they can easily flush out essential nutritients. I advice use some multivitamins, while using diuretic foods. By the way I adding my personal diet.
